Bakewell Bliss Balls

I really like the taste of a Bakewell Tart, but I find them too sickly sweet. However, I made these yummy bliss balls to have the flavour of a Bakewell Tart but without the sickliness, and I made these balls to be packed with nutrients and goodness. I love these... almost as much as chocolate!

Equipment

  • 1 Food processor (using an S Blade)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup soft dates (I use 1/3 cup of dates as I prefer them not too sweet, adjust to suit your taste)
  • 1-2 tbsp nut or soya milk (Or water)
  • 1 tsp almond extract (I use Sainsbury's TTD Moroccan Almond Extract)
  • pinch sea salt (optional)
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)
  • 1 tbsp raspberry fruit conserve (optional) (I use the St. Dalfour brand)

Instructions

  • In a blender, add all the ingredients. Blend under the mixture starts to clump together. The milk or water will make it stick together so start with a splash and add more if the mixture is not sticking together. The type of dates you use will determine how much liquid you use.
I have also made these using half sultanas and half dates and they worked.
  • Roll into small balls. Place in the fridge. Enjoy whenever you wish! They freeze well, in case you want to save some for another week.
