Bakewell Bliss Balls
I really like the taste of a Bakewell Tart, but I find them too sickly sweet. However, I made these yummy bliss balls to have the flavour of a Bakewell Tart but without the sickliness, and I made these balls to be packed with nutrients and goodness. I love these... almost as much as chocolate!
Equipment
- 1 Food processor (using an S Blade)
Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup soft dates (I use 1/3 cup of dates as I prefer them not too sweet, adjust to suit your taste)
- 1-2 tbsp nut or soya milk (Or water)
- 1 tsp almond extract (I use Sainsbury's TTD Moroccan Almond Extract)
- pinch sea salt (optional)
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)
- 1 tbsp raspberry fruit conserve (optional) (I use the St. Dalfour brand)
Instructions
- In a blender, add all the ingredients. Blend under the mixture starts to clump together. The milk or water will make it stick together so start with a splash and add more if the mixture is not sticking together. The type of dates you use will determine how much liquid you use.I have also made these using half sultanas and half dates and they worked.
- Roll into small balls. Place in the fridge. Enjoy whenever you wish! They freeze well, in case you want to save some for another week.
