Guides for Online Classes with Zoom

Guide to Zoom for private tuition

  1. Download Zoom Cloud Meetings on whatever device you are going to be using to join in the class (iPhone, iPad, Laptop, PC (the larger the screen the better, remember you will be doing your exercises in front of the screen), either via the App store or download it here and sign-up where it says “Sign-up, it’s Free” (or click here).  You do not need the paid version (only I do).
  2. Make sure your devise is fully charged up ready for the session.
  3. I will send you an invitation (either via text, email or WhatsApp) to join the meeting 10 minutes before your session will begin – click on the link and use the meeting ID and Password sent to you.
  4. It will ask if you want to join in with Audio & Video  or without – click on box that says WITH Audio & Video.
  5. Place the device you are using to view the video so that you can see it when you are doing your exercises (floor based and standing).  Best if you can have the screen on landscape view.
  6. Make sure you have all your equipment set up and ready for the start of class to save time.
  7. Check you have plenty of room around you to move legs/arms etc.

Guide to Zoom for group classes

  1. Download Zoom  Cloud Meetings on whatever device you are going to be using to join in the class (iPhone, iPad, Laptop, PC (the larger the screen the better, remember you will be doing your exercises in front of the screen), either via the App store, or download it here and sign-up where it says “Sign-up, it’s Free” (or click here).  You do not need the paid version (only I do).
  2. Book onto the class that you wish to attend here.
  3. Make sure your device is fully charged up ready for the session.
  4. Once you have booked onto the class, 15 minutes before the class is due to start you will get a message from me inviting you to join the meeting (the message will come either via text, email or WhatsApp) – click on the link and use the meeting ID and Password sent to you.
  5. You will then be asked if you want to join in with Audio & Video  or without – click on box that says WITH Audio & Video.
  6. Set your screen to Speaker View.
  7. Familiarise yourself with the settings at the bottom of the screen as at some point I may have to ask you to turn off the audio, if for some reason it fails to do it my end (i.e. you will be muted), so we do not get too many noise distractions. When you are muted, I will remain in the centre of the screen.  If you want to ask a question, give me a wave and I will “unmute” you.
  8. Arrange your laptops/devices so I can see as much of you as possible and so you do not have to keep moving it.
  9. Check you have plenty of room around you to move legs/arms etc.
  10. Once muted, I will keep checking in with you all to make sure you are all ok, please give me the thumbs up if you are ok.  Wave or put your hand up if not ok.
  11. At the end of the class I will “unmute” you so we can feedback, chat and say goodbye before signing off.

PLEASE NOTE: Logging onto a ZOOM Class with Elizabeth Nadine means that you agree to the following statement:

I understand that I have agreed to participate in online Elizabeth Nadine classes which include strenuous physical activity. I agree that I will only participate if fit and well and will notify the teacher at the start of the class if there is any new information to my submitted health form here or changes concerning my fitness to participate.  I agree that I will follow all instructions given by the teacher, including abstaining if I am told an exercise is not suitable for me.  I also agree not to record the lesson in any form. Agreement to this Online Teaching Notification will act as my continued agreement to all ensuing on-line sessions, via Zoom or any other video conferencing tool.
